Whether you’re new to the lash game or have years of experience, building a presence on social media is a skill set that can be difficult for many to master! We all know the power of social media and what it can do for a business. That’s why we asked Katrina Morozova, the owner of Tailor Lash to provide her best tips and tricks. Katrina owns 3 salons and a beauty academy with more than 41,000 followers just on Instagram. Let’s get started!
Not Setting Up a TikTok and Instagram Account
This may seem obvious, but you absolutely need to setup an Instagram and TikTok account. Instagram has been the go-to social media site for beauty influencers and businesses for years. Instagram is a fantastic way to share your portfolio of work while expanding your reach with new audiences. However, TikTok is quickly coming for Instagram’s crown as the top site for beauty education, content, and resources.
Not Following Their Clients on Social Media
It may seem obvious to ask clients to follow you on social. But I’ve seen so many talented lash artists miss a huge opportunity by not following their clients back! Social media for a lash artist is part of the job and by following your clients is an easy way to stay in touch with them and stay top of mind!
Not Posting Regularly
Again, this may seem obvious but I’ve seen so many artists miss this crucial step. Posting regularly not only keeps you top of mind, but it helps build trust with new and existing clients. You should aim to post at least once a day! When you post regularly, clients will feel confident that your skills are up-to-date and on-trend.
Some easy ideas for content include:
- Before and after pictures or videos
- Tips and tricks for lash maintenance
- Client testimonials
Not Responding to Comments and DMs
A good social media following isn’t just about growing your followers and getting likes. It’s actually all about engagement. You want people to interact with your accounts by leaving comments, sending DMs, and clicking links in your bio. Many clients will use the comment section to ask questions or leave compliments about your work – be sure to respond to every single one! This is an easy way to establish trust and a relationship with your clients.
It’s Hard to Find Their Contact Info
If it takes me more than 3 seconds to find your contact information, I’ve already lost interest! You should post your contact info in every post, make sure your bio links and details are always accurate, and regularly check your DMs. Chances are a potential client will not wait very long before moving on to the next artist in your area. Don’t miss out on this simple win.
Mastering social media for your business is no easy feat. It takes just as much time and dedication as any other skill required to successfully run your business. However, I can confidently say that by investing in your social media accounts, you will see your business grow!
Best of Luck
