We know it can overwhelming to figure out all of the tools you’ll need to get started with lashing. That’s why we’ve put together this quick guide so you know exactly what you need!
Tailor Lash Machine
The Tailor Lash Machine can be a game changer for beginner lash artists. Many newbies struggle with organizing their lashes and being able to pull lashes quickly and easily. This device holds all of your lashes and makes it easy to pull lash fans with a simple turn of a crank.
Lashes
The types of lashes you use can make or break the final look for your clients. We recommend purchasing 3-4 trays of single-length lashes, especially when you’re getting started. Mixed trays ranging from 9mm to 18mm lashes may seem tempting, but you may not need such a large range at first and those lashes will just go to waste.
Lash Glue
Also called lash adhesive, this item is a must-have for your kit. Picking the right lash glue can actually be somewhat complicated. When selecting your lash glue you should consider the following:
- Ingredients
- Drying time
- Ideal temperature
- Ideal humidity
It can take time to find the right glue for your needs, so don’t overcommit and buy any in bulk until you’re sure it’s the right one for you!
Tweezers
Tweezers are just like glue and lashes – it comes in tons of shapes, sizes, materials, and styles. If your hand is cramping or your fingers are hurting too quickly, you should try a variety of tweezers to maximize your comfort.
We also recommend that all lash artists use two tweezers:
- One for separating lashes
- One for attaching lashes
Eye Pads
We recommend eye pads for beginner lash artists! Eye pads can help customers feel more relaxed and cared for, and they can be helpful for covering lower lashes when doing top ones. Not every lash artist feels like they need them, but we think they are a great tool for new artists!

You need to experiment with all of the tools out there to see what feels the most comfortable for you! Don’t ever buy a bunch of tools and products until you’re confident they’re right you!
