How to Speed Up a Lash Application

Lashing is an art form and the long hours in the chair are always worth the final results. However, with such a time-consuming process, you can’t help but wonder if there has to be an easier way. Traditionally, only the most experienced lash artists are able to cut down on their lashing time. But we’re not settling for that. That’s why we’ve pulled together some of our top tips for speeding up a lash application. Let’s get started.

Ask Your Clients to Come in with Clean Lashes

Make sure your clients know to come in without makeup. This is going to save you time cleaning their lashes.

Use a Fast-Drying Glue

Use a lash adhesive that dries in less than 3 seconds. This will save minutes during your application.

Get the Right Tweezers

You must use a high-quality set of tweezers specifically designed for volume lashes. These tweezers allow you to fan the lashes without them slipping away. Not only are they designed for volume lashes, but they don’t need a lot of tension. Which means less hand cramps.

Make Sure You Can See Well

Good lighting, a magnifying glass, and taking breaks will do wonders for your vision. When you can see well, you apply lashes more quickly. It may sound counterintuitive to take a break, but if your eyes are strained and tired, you will inevitably slow down.

Control the Humidity

If your humidity is off, then your adhesive will not cure properly. Use a Hygrometer to measure the humidity in your space, then make sure you’re using a glue that is ideal for that humidity. If you need to raise or lower the humidity, consider looking into dehumidifiers, humidifiers, or nano-misters.

Use the Tailor Lash Machine

Making fans is one of the most time consuming parts of the entire process. The Tailor Lash Machine makes it easy to create lash fans in less than a second without having to bend over and pull fans manually.

The key to improving your lash speed is practice and controlling the controllable. While you can’t rush practice and time, you can find little things that are slowing you down. Work to eliminate these things first and you’ll start to see your lashing speed improve.
